Hey Diddle Diddle

Hey diddle diddle
MPs on the fiddle,
The press were over the moon.
The Telegraph roared
To see such fraud,
They’d always hated Geoff Hoon.

But hey nonny nonny
Some dark telephony
Brought public pressure to bear.
The press were appalled
When Leveson called
For something to make them play fair.

After much barter
They hit on a charter
More a twig than a stick.
But the press wouldn’t have it
(They just wanted carrots)
And got their objections in quick.

So now we have nothing
But huffing and puffing
And spin like never before.
It’s gone on so long,
That everyone’s wrong
And the whole thing’s a terrible bore.
